The Vampire drama has received an order for nine additional episodes.

The CW has ordered an additional nine episodes of its new drama The Vampire Diaries. This will bring the total count to 22 episodes for the show's first season.
Thanks to solid ratings, The Vampire Diaries was an early pickup for the network, which also announced additional script orders for Melrose Place and One Tree Hill.
