Caprica has been canceled

The sci-fi series' first season will be its last.

Syfy has canceled freshman sci-fi series Caprica. The show will be removed from the network's schedule as of November 2. To conclude the series, the remaining five episodes will be rescheduled to air during the first quarter of 2011.

In a press release,Syfy Executive VP Mark Stern said that Caprica was unable to build the audience necessary to justify a second season.
