Fans of Desperate Houswives will be happy to know that things are looking good for the show's future. While nothing is official at this point, word is that the long-running dramedy will be returning for an eighth season next fall.

After seven seasons on the air, Desperate Housewives continues to be one of ABC's strongest ratings performers. The four leading ladies of the show - Teri Hatcher, Eva Longoria, Felicity Huffman, and Marcia Cross - are reportedly in the midst of finalizing one-year deals to return for Season 8, with an option for Season 9. All will be receiving raises upon their return, with a base salary across the board of about $325,000 per episode (up from $275,000). If Season 9 happens, that number would go up again to approximately $350,000 each.

It's unclear at this time if series creator Marc Cherry will return, as he has previously indicated that this current season will be his last.
