Fox has made it official: Bones has been renewed for Season 7. The news comes two weeks after showrunner Hart Hanson expressed his confidence in the show's return, and just one day after star David Boreanaz spilled the beans via a Twitter message. So while this announcement was expected, fans of the show will be relieved to get the official confirmation.

"BONES is creatively fresh, it’s a rock-solid player every time it airs and this season it has helped us win on Thursday nights for the first time in our history," said Fox's President of Entertainment, Kevin Reilly. "Hart Hanson and the fantastic cast and crew, as well as the millions of loyal BONES fans, make this show really special, and I’m excited to have it on our air for another stellar season."

Bones follows forensic anthropologist Temperance Brennan as she teams up with Special Agent Seeley Booth to investigate murders by examining clues left behind in victims' bones. The series is currently airing its sixth season and has three episodes remaining before the finale on May 19.
