NBC has finally cancelled Law & Order: Los Angeles after a bumpy run for the series. The latest Law & Order spin-off has never really caught since premiering in September of last year. Ratings were below expectations for the franchise, even causing the show to be put on hiatus in order to undergo a retooling, which included casting changes.

NBC debuted the revamped Law & Order: LA in April, but the changes didn't help the show any in the ratings. In fact, it returned to series low numbers, earning a 1.5 in adults 18-49 - down from 2.2 in its previous original episode.

At that point, the writing was on the wall for the struggling series. Efforts to revive the show had failed and cancellation was the network's only real option given the ratings it was pulling in.
