The long-running drama will return for the 2011-2012 season.
May 17, 2011
The CW has renewed what is now its longest running drama on the air, One Tree Hill, for a ninth - and likely final - season.
The order is for a shortened 13-episode run, but it should be noted that its current season was also originally renewed for 13 episodes only to be given a full season order early in the season.
No official timetable has been announced yet for the show's return, but it is expected to premiere at some point in the middle of next season.
One Tree Hill's eighth-season finale airs tonight.

How is this show still on the air. It is trite and has become such rubbish. The show has continued on and on. The show should have been cancelled a long time ago, but all 15 year old girls would suddenly die .... For shame. Thank God this show is in it's final season. Not to mention most of these actors can't really act so this will be the highlight of their careers. Live it up
