The series moves to a new night for its third season.

With Alan Cumming signing a deal in April to continue with The Good Wife as a series regular, the show's renewal for a third season was all but a lock. CBS made the news official today with the release of its 2011-2012 schedule.
Part of the news included a move to a new night. The Good Wife will air Sundays at 9:00pm starting in the Fall opposite ABC's Desperate Housewives. While the reason for the move is not known, the network is showing confidence in the series to move it into the more competitive 9:00pm hour.
The drama finished off its second season last night. No word on the number of episodes for Season 3, but each of its first two seasons have ran for 23.
