ABC has picked up the summer cop drama for another season.

ABC, jointly with Canadian network Global, have announced that Rookie Blue has been renewed for a third season on both networks. The early pickup comes just four episodes into the show's second season.

Produced and set in Toronto, Canada, Rookie Blue follows five rookie cops navigating the ups and downs of their first year on the force. So far this summer the show has ranked Number 1 in its 10:00pm Thursday time slot among adults 18-49, a key demographic.

They should call it Rookie Blue Balls - My wife can't wait till it starts back up, but for me it is just more time spent on my computer... Yeah season 3

I am not in your target group; however, as a 62 year old teacher, I am amazed how wonderful this show is. As a teacher, I rarely have time to watch television and if I
am not interested in a show in the first seven minutes, I turn it off. My graddaughter and I will really enjoy watching this together. Drama and character chemistry is a must for television today.

YEAH!!!!! So glad to hear that Rookie Blue will be back!! ... and if it wouldn't have???? What are the exec's thinking??? Hope that the polls show them that they definetly need more of the show!!! More, more , and more episodes!! LOVE IT!

I was so worried this show was cancelled when I did not see it on the fall schedule. Looking forward to see it this spring and next year. I like the idea of shows being shown different times of the year.

Rookie Blue and Against the Wall were two of my favorites shows -- I'm glad we'll be seeing the former again, but I think Against the Wall was dismissed prematurely. is it my imagination, or do the "new shows" get less and less time to "prove themselves?" I'm afraid I don't really understand the polls these days -- I guess I see things from the perspective of the bubble of people like me, but most people I know don't watch shows in "real time," anyway ~ and thus don't ever see the commercials. So, what the heck are the "ratings" based on??

Very disappointed that Against the Wall was not picked up for another season. That was an excellent show but not much advertising so people were not aware of it. What a loss!!!!!
