One episode of the medical drama will go unaired.
August 24, 2011
ABC has announced that the first-season finale of Combat Hospital has been moved up one week from September 13 to September 6. What this means for its fans is that one episode of the freshman medical drama will go unaired on the network.
The move also doesn't bode well for the future of the show - on US shores at least. Combat Hospital is a Canadian-produced series that also airs on Global Television in Canada. If ABC opts not to move forward with a second season of the show, it is quite possible that Global will pick it up.
A similar situation happened with drama The Listener, which NBC originally started airing for a Summer run in 2009, only to pull it from the schedule after a handful of episodes. The series continued on Canadian airwaves and was recently renewed for a third season.
As it stands, the future of Combat Hospital is unknown at this time, but ABC's decision to leave an episode of its first season on the shelf puts chances of a second one in serious doubt.

Sometimes TV networks need to give new shows a little more time to let characters develop and to find a proper time slot.I think that if CH were given a little more time,it could grow into an Emmy winning, long lived show.

Please bring back Combat Hospital and Off The Map they are such great shows and we don't have others that compare. It is so frustrating to be so into a great show that you plan your day around watching it and then it is cancelled and these shows were this for me and so many people I work with we would all get back to work and discuss them and what we thought would happen and what did happen. What a sham!!!!

I'm hoping that some of these "network execs" that think they know what the viewers want haven't decided to cancel Combat Hospital. Give it a shot. It's very good and deals with real life in that region of the world.. I'm sick to death of "reality" shows.

I don't understand what ABC's problem is. They have been canceling so many good shows lately including Combat Hospital, One Life to Live and All My Children and many more. I think what everyone needs to do is stop watching ABC all together and send in letters and emails and overflow their boxes with all the complaints and let them know that we are tired of them canceling all these shows that people really enjoy. There is enough reality shows and talk shows and cooking shows already on TV. They could have another station for those kind of shows, so if someone wants to watch them they can, but stop interrupting the shows we like to watch. I have already stopped watching any ABC shows since the cancellation of my shows and I know several others who have also. So start letting the network know how you fill and stop watching ABC altogether and maybe they will get the message that we are tired of the things they are doing. We have to stick together on this. We want our shows that we enjoy watching to be on.
