Showtime Renews Homeland

12 episodes have been ordered for the show's second season.

October 26, 2011

Showtime announced today that its new series Homeland has been renewed for a second season. The good news comes just four episodes into the show's freshman run, but was expected considering it has been well received by both critics and viewers.

“HOMELAND is just getting started,” said Showtime's President of Entertainment, David Nevins.  “Clearly, the overall audience growth from week one to week four demonstrates that this show is hitting a nerve in the cultural zeitgeist.  Alex and Howard have created a psychological thriller that holds special relevance in the post 9/11 world.  I’m quite confident that its passionate audience will be riveted as the season unfolds and people discover where this story is going.”

The network has ordered 12 new episodes for Season 2 of Homeland. Production is set to being next spring, pointing to a likely late 2012 premiere.

This series has proven to be the best in many many years. I was so afraid that it would not be back, and when the news came out,I can now plan my life around the Sunday Night showing. The acting is subperb and without question most believable. I LOVE IT. and thank you for keeping it on for us.

I really liked this, untill the end. Then I found it is just another show bashing America as plotting to kill children. Therefore, it is giving this traitor a good reason to want to blow up Americans, since a child he was close to was one of the children deliberately blown up by America. This is insulting and offensive, and I would warn people who feel the same to not get involved with this.

Leave it to this websight to find out all information on every tv show. Homeland is renewed, just found out today by checking here. No mention of it being renewed by any tv show Entertainment tonight and other shows like it////not one word of it being renewed. Bless you for being here for us. Homeland was by far the top show for 2011. If they had it on regular tv like abc and put it on against NCIS i am not sure who would win the time slot. This show has a steller cast and was put together better than anything I have seen in years.I predict it will have a long future. Horray "is my show (canceled).com "has done it again. Being new to this sight it will take time to get all my questions answered, so far you are batting 100% on any question I have had.

This is an awesome show! These kind of shows are great. Just like 24, Kidnapped, and Person of Interest. Glad there's a second season. It deserves another!

I LOVE this show! I can't wait for season two. We starting watching it on demand and being in Canada we were not getting up to date episodes so we finished watching the season online.

Best show on TV!
