CBS has renewed its long-running reality show Survivor for another season, which will consist of two more cycles broadcast over the 2012-13 season. Jeff Probst is slated to return to his usual duties as host and executive producer.

On the air since 2000, Survivor has managed to consistently pull in solid ratings year after year, tweaking its formula just often enough to keep from getting stale - something which causes many shows to lose viewers after a such a prolonged time on the air. This latest renewal will see the series through to its 26th edition.

Survivor is currently in its 23rd edition and ranking as the Number 2 reality series on TV among adults 18-49. CBS announced that the next edition of the show will premiere on Wednesday, February 15, 2012 at its regular 8:00pm time.
