ABC will not continue its paranormal mystery series.

ABC has cancelled freshman thriller The River after one season. The show premiered earlier this year as a mid-season replacement, airing a short 8-episode first season between February 7 and March 20. Unfortunately the series struggled ratings-wise, not garnering enough viewers for the network to continue the story next season.

The River is a awesome show....my family liked it so much we have the season on dvd....the show kept u on the edge of ur seat each & every week waitin to see what wud happen the next week.....why do all the good shows get taken off wth......what were they compairin it to....what was so damn good on the opposing stations ???? they really need to bring it back !!!!! i found it more interestin than most shows on tv now....it was right up there with The Walking Dead.....i never missed a show of The River and really hope it comes back

Just started watching this in UK to find out its cancelled !! Every good programme that comes on ends up cancelled to allow space for some reality sh**e !

Ok, my daughter and I were just searching for when season2 started for The River and we find out its cancelled?... Wed, Thursday Friday...WTF? Bummed BIG Time it was a great show and we are truly disappointed.

i loved this show it was unique! there was nothing like it. they should absolutely bring this show back. i also only watched it on hulu because of a schedule conflict, but i caught it sometime in the week

I am honeslty floored that this show was cancelled! I LITERALLY loved the showed and stayed up past my bed time to watch it, even thou it meant falling asleep at my desk the next day...Please bring it back :)
