Premiere Date Announced For Breaking Bad's Final Season

The AMC drama's fifth season kicks off July 15, 2012.

May 22, 2012

AMC has set a premiere date for the fifth and final season of Breaking Bad. The acclaimed drama returns Sunday, July 15, 2012 at 10:00pm with the first eight episodes of its 16-episode concluding season.

The Emmy award-winning series will end a successful run where over the past four years it has earned widespread critical praise in categories such as acting, writing, and cinematography.

After the first half of Breaking Bad's final season airs, viewers will have to wait until Summer 2013 for the remaining eight episodes.

gotta love it when they let a show run its course. give us a real ending instead of just dropping the show and disappointing all the fans. can't wait for the new episodes!

The only reason they split it like that is so the actors could have a chance to win awards for the final season. Since they waited until July 2012 to start the 5th season they missed the cutoff date for the 2012 awareds.

I think it's crappy they are not showing it all at once since they are stopping a TV series that is clearly at the top of the ratings. Which makes no sense either.

Awww it will end :( ? Sucks!
But what really sucks is the long wait lol couldnt they make 2 seasons out of it then? or at least finish it at once I mean seriously wtf is the point of waiting from Sept till June/July :S almost a year to end half a season :S ? BS.
