The freshman sitcom becomes this season's second casualty.
October 18, 2012
NBC has pulled the plug on new comedy Animal Practice. The show, which premiered in late September, has aired three episodes to-date (four if you include a special preview in August) and will continue in its regular time slot until November 7, 2012, which will be its final episode.
Low ratings plagued the series, which has fallen from modest 2.4 rating among adults 18-49 in its September debut to a lowly 1.0 this week. It is the first comedy of the season to be cancelled, and second overall after drama Made in Jersey.
In its place, Whitney will start airing on November 14, 2012 to kick off its sophomore season.

I can't believe you cancelled the cutest show we've seen in quite a while!! My husband & I are 50's, my kids are teens, my parents are 80's...and we ALL enjoyed this show so much that we wanted it to be an hour long or more that once a week!! Why don't you take off all the stupid stuff and give this one another chance?! Try putting it in a time slot where the other networks have stupid stuff on, and see how that works out...we have been impatiently waiting for it's return (not ever thinking it could have been cancelled). Maybe you should sell it to Animal Planet or another channel, so we can all enjoy it again.

I will stop watching NBC!! You are crazy to take a good show off the air and leave some of that garbage that you call good on the air, and it will be replaced by whitney, that idiotic show that is tasteless and stupid,no wonder this country is so messed up, people would rather watch idiot stuff than something actually decent like Animal Practice, i hope that another network has the sense to pick it up!

Joanna Garcia Swisher & Tyler Labine just can't catch a break. There has to be something out in TV land that these 2 obviously talented actors can get onto that will last more than 1 season. Never watched the show as it conflicted with shows that had already captured my interest. I gotta say that expcept for the cast there was not much in about the show that impressed me when I had seen it advertised on NBC. Very happy that Whitney is coming back though!

This was a cute show. I liked the characters. It was never a laugh out loud comedy like The Big Bang Theory or a Mel Brooks comedy. Comedies are my favorite. This one was just OK.

We watched every episode so far, because as animal lovers it had potential. The male lead was rude but not quite charismatic enough to believe that he would ever have gotten the female lead to date him. The monkey was overdone. Using him once in a while would have been better, he did not have to be in every scene. Many times they would have him do the same sight gag over and over. Yes, he can stir something, I got that the first time, thanks. They should have had more time with the interesting side characters. We love that guy that used to be on Mad Love and Yamamoto is excellent. More people, less monkey.

What an absolute crime!! And they give that horrible Mindy Project an entire season!?! Are you kidding me?! Mindy is the worst show ever. WOW really? I don't feel bad for Joanna....we should all feel bad for Tyler Labine. That (funny) actor has been in about 62 shows in 10 years that have all been cancelled! Bobby Lee was great too. Oh well, NBC or whoever has their heads straight up their arses.

Are you kidding me?? Joanna ruined the show! She's weak and indecisive--get a strong female lead please!!! Rizzo made the show--the monkey is hillarious. George (Justin Kirk) is also a great character along with Yamamoto and the girl with the raspy voice. The show had potenial--especially for animal lovers out there. It could have been funny if Joanna's character and George were constantly butting heads in a funny way instead of her running around wanting to be everyone's friend.

Don't need to be a rocket science to tell this was going to be cancelled.
