The military drama will not continue past its initial order.
November 16, 2012
ABC has cancelled freshman series Last Resort. The military drama will still air all 13 episodes of its original order but will not continue past that.
Since debuting in late September, Last Resort was hailed by many critics as one of the strongest new dramas of the 2012-2013 season, but ratings for the show failed to match up to its critical praise. This past Thursday's episode was its lowest-rated to-date, likely sealing its fate.

And ABC and NBC want to know why they cant keep up with CBS. I have gotten tired of getting into a show on these stations and then having the rug pulled out from under me after 1 or 2 seasons. That is why your ratings suck. They need new management in the front office.

THis show reminded me of a few others I love like Jericho where the world was under attack and towns had to reform and fend for theirselves & Lost & Falling Skies with the guy from ER. You have to worry about the future of how long they can last with the scenarios they have been given but I think this show still had room to go for at least another season or two if they have good writters. Its dissapointing to become invested in a tv show & it just dissapears without even giving us the viewers an opportunity to give our opinion. Open up a discussion board on your tv page asking how we watch the program, would a different time or night draw us to watch it or live etc. I personally have 2 kids in HS one in wrestling & 1 basketball so I am almost never home except for wednesday & sunday nights (no sports on those nights) so we dvr everything and watch it from there. Sometimes I watch things in order or by length of time so I can empty some of it out it has nothing to do with the show. Or we just want a movie night and regular programing gets bumped for a few days. I dont think tv networks thake 2012/2013 lifestyles into account this isnt the old days where you watched live huddled around the living room tv a show with the family.

Sorry but this is bullshit! Honestly one of the best new shows I have seen in a while...and I stream a hell of a lot of TV. But its exactly that isnt it? I stream it, so do a hell of a lot of other people, of course the show is not going to pull a huge audience based on TV ratings on a thursday night! Up against Vampire Diaries, Person of Interest, Burn Notice, Big Bang Theory, Glee....it had no chance from the beginning really. They should at least have looked at moving it to friday (the place where TV shows really do go to die) because I reckon the second it wasn't up against huge contenders on the CW and USA the ratings would have flown

About time! This show was not even close to what the Navy is really like. They should have deep sixed it buy the second week!

Bull!!!! So sick of this. They did this to Flash Foward. NBC did it to The Event. And Lie to Me got canelled by FOX. maybe I just am not in sync with the rest of America. or these "ratings" people are real stupid. Maybe I'm wrong but i would bet there are hundreds of thousands of people who watch this show on DVR and Demand. I love thursdays. Parks and Recreation, Big Bang Theory, 30 Rock, Office, Always Sunny in Philidelphia, The League, and Archer. I have to DVR these shows, or i miss them. If these morons put it on on Wednesday or Friday i guarentee the ratings would be much higher. or if you want to keep in on Thursday put it on at 10pm. Revolution is on at 10 and has good ratings. Last Resort is one of the most interesting shows i have EVER seen. I was so excited after the first episode. then i find out after 1 episodes that this show is on the chopping block, its ruined it for me. i still watch it and love it but i watch every episode knowing this story will never fully finish. its like reading a book thats been half burned, and the burnt half is the middle to the end. all the characters are amazing. ABC I will NEVER watch your network again. and i'm sure many others are making that same decision right now. LOSERS!!

Thanks a lot abc if you guys running the network had half a brain you would have realized that running this great show against a cult following like the vampire diaries is not good buss was this show is great, but In the wrong time slot. Figure it out idiots!!

This show had moments, but was a mess. In the pilot the US unleashed a nuclear attack on another country...the next episode we see yuppies sipping merlot at a Washington bar, while the 24 hour news channels play stories about pet kidnappings in the background. The mystery and conspiracy never coalesced, the tension was unsustainable and a constant state of blah moved us from episode to episode. The big question - how many shows will the network have to film on this set before they get back their investment in "Off The Map?"

This show is too advanced and taboo for the American public. You would hope a cable or premium network would take a chance on it, but that never really happens. Too bad, a show finally talks about the hidden truths plaguing this country and it gets cancelled. Go figure.

I'm going to get rid of my satellite and just stream T.V. shows. Screw these idiot networks.
