The new reality series is out after two episodes.
February 18, 2013
CBS has taken new series The Job off its schedule effective immediately. The show was the latest reality series from Mark Burnett, where each week a group of candidates vied for a position at a top company in the featured field. But unlike Burnett's other successful ventures such as Survivor, The Voice, and The Apprentice, The Job experienced low ratings out of the gate.
Only two episodes of The Job have aired since premiering earlier this month. Undercover Boss will take its place starting this Friday, February 22, 2013. There is no word on whether CBS will air any of the remaining six already-produced episodes of The Job.

Shows like I Love Lucy as was mentioned by JDintheOc as well as shows like Cheers, Seinfeld and Friends would never have made it in the modern era. The pressure for instant ratings success these days has scene many shows fail that possibly could have met the same success as the above mentioned shows.
With reality tv being cheaper to make and produce and more and more people giving instant ratings for the trash infused crud, the era of Cheers, Seinfeld, Friends and other type shows making it is a thing of the past.
While this show is a reality show it did not sink low enough into the dregs to get the kind of instant ratings the networks expect.

If you can't smell a turd in two shows... you need your nose checked.

I Love Lucy was a flop at first, but it started to grow on people and we all know how that went. Now I hear they're going to bring out Celebrity Diving (Off a diving board no less). At this point, I know I won't be watching that one!

Two weeks is long enough to let a show develop. If it sucks there's no reason to keep it on the air.

Hopefully The Taste is next. Tried to like it, but it just isn't there.

Once again not giving a show enough time to develop. Two weeks come on? Give a show longer time before you just ax it. This show can be beneficial to many people. Great job CBS! :P
