The low-rated drama will make the move starting April 6.
March 13, 2013
NBC announced a scheduling shuffle today, making mostly minor changes to its line-up with one notable exception. The network is moving sophomore drama Smash to Saturdays effective April 6, 2013. The musical series has struggled in the ratings since returning for its second season last month, and today's news all but ensures that this season will be its last.
On a positive note, NBC has confirmed that it will air Season 2 of Smash in its entirety, allowing the rest of its 17 episodes to air in its new Saturday 9:00pm time slot.

I LOVE this show. I really hope they don't cancel it. This season I don't really care about the new characters and I can't stand Karen. I FF through her and watch Ivy. ;) The only addition I do like is Sean Hayes.
At least they didn't move it to Friday - the day they send shows to die!

Not surprising. Loved the first season. The changes that came with the second season - much more of a soap opera, much much less about "Bombshell" and how it evolves, so many new characters and competing story lines, it is hard to care about it like I did last year.

great show. no profanity. doomed. would someone please explain what makes a sentence funnier, more meaningful, etc, by adding a few choice expletives?

Surprising move considering the money that's probably spent on this show. Hope it doesn't get cancelled but with the move it probably will.

I love this show........ and really hope they don't cancel it. I think the actors/actresses are great and I'm really enjoying the new characters.
Pamela - you are right .... Jack Davenport is one reason the show needs to stay on the air!

Didn't watch the first season, haven't watched the second season, won't miss it when it's gone.

The second season hasn't been nearly as captivating as the first season. I think there are too many new characters in this season and it's hurting the show. I'm still watching it, but I don't like it as much as I used to. Jack Davenport makes the show worth watching.
