Netflix will release new episodes this May.
April 4, 2013
Netflix has announced a return date for the new season of Arrested Development, which the company is reviving six years after the show was cancelled by FOX. New episodes - 15 in total - for the comedy's fourth season will be available at 12:01am on May 26, 2013 in territories where Netflix is available.
In an impressive move, all of the show's main characters will be returning for the new episodes, with each one set to focus on a different character's point of view. There are no plans to produce any additional episodes, however.

OMG!! I didn't know anything about this. I realize Arrested Development is a quirky show, but I loved it. It does seem like an awful lot of the comedies on the air today have gone with quirky themes.
Mostly, thanks very much to Netflix and all the actors for caring enough about the fans to give this a try.

Alcatraz was a boring and slow moving predictable show after the initial high from the pilot ran out. It didnt have nearly the strong following that this show had. If Alcatraz fans put the same amount of effort and money the arrested development fans did, maybe there would be a flicker of interest. But with the main character already moving on to Vegas. Don't bet on it.
