The drama will not return for Season 4.
September 10, 2013
Fans of AMC's The Killing will be saddened to hear that the series has been cancelled once again. The cable network has decided not to bring the crime drama back for a fourth season.
Originally cancelled after Season 2, The Killing was revived after a strong backlash from fans when it was made known that a third season was not planned. Season 3 returned to decent ratings but ultimately ended flat compared with Season 2's numbers, which led to the show's cancellation in the first place.

I watched this show from the pilot just so you know where stand. Let's be real for a minute though. The pace of the show was just way too slow, even in it's first and best season. The acting was good, the producing was good, but the show was slow to a fault.

I watched the first two seasons on Netflix and I was hooked this show is addictive. I waited every week wondering what would happen. It deserves to continue with their unique story. It is great don't cancel it advertise it sell it and it will flourish...

this show has been awesome from the start. It just has never been given a chance. AMC has not ever been able to fit this round peg show into AMC's square box. You have Two brilliant actors in Mireille Enos (Linden) and Joel Kinnaman (Holder) who knock it out of the park. Someone on this website mentions the rain & the gloom. The weather is one of the shows character. Like noir, they are dealing with some awful stuff. You notice in the beginning of season 3 when Linden was all happy, the sun was shining. Then you start delving into her psyche & more darkness. I hate losing intelligent shows while filling the TV up with stupid crap. I hope another network has the foresight to pick this show up. The ending kicked butt. I want to see what happens next.

Tarra... Your entire list is junk. If that's the TV you like.. you simply have very poor taste.

I just cannot believe that such a fantastic show gets cancelled when there is so much crap on tv. Just so bummed that I won't get to see what happens next with Holder and Linden...AMC is truly wrong about this one....there should have been more press to support the show and Enos and Kinnaman are the strongest acting partners on television...sick about this one and wonder if quality on tv even matters anymore...

Of course. Seems like any show I like gets cancelled. I personally thought the latest season was the best yet, it was not as slow feeling as the first 2 seasons even though I did like the first 2 seasons. I liked the storyline of season 3 best of all, then they cancel it? Maybe I should just send the networks a list of their shows I watch so they can go ahead and cancel them. If I watched the shows that sucked they would keep bringing them back. The past year they have cancelled/ended:
90210,
True Blood (which sickens me),
Private Practice ,
The Borgias,
666 Park Avenue,
Do No Harm (this show was good and not even given a chance),
Intervention,
Smash (again another that was cancelled after its best season),
Red Widow,
Mob Doctor,
and that's only the ones I can remember. Except Cult which is the only one i agree was a awful show but I just watched it anyway. Stupid networks!

Does anyone else find it amusing that the year they start and finish one case instead of dragging it on for a second season that's when it gets cancelled? It's a shame that the people that make these decisions don't watch television!

What is it with these TV stations, you are enjoying a show anticipating another season but NO.....another cancellation. Sad day when they cancelled the Killing, one of the most enjoyable shows I have watched. Being from Australia, it has never aired on our Television, so I download and watch......like many other shows from UK and the States, all I can say is I am one very unhappy aussie
