The new drama will return for Season 2.
May 8, 2015
NBC has renewed freshman series The Mysteries of Laura for a second season. The Debra Messing drama premiered last year as part of the fall schedule, garnering decent ratings for the network and earning a pickup for a full 22-episode season.
For Season 2, the show will reportedly see a retooling to focus more on crime solving than the family drama aspects. NBC is also cutting down the episode count to 13.

Used to watch this show but now i realize that this show is just a generic crime drama that focusew on the lifes of an ordinary mom wrong and a bad show with a bad settinf and bad writers. I mean mcg diredted a few eoisodes of this show and hes the guy who directed the cruddy action comedy show this means war. But i wilk still watch to see how hot debra messing gets.

So NBC needed another generic procedural? I like Mysteries of Laura, not Debra Messing in yet another formulaic crime drama.

I have to admit, the first episode was a disaster. Over the top on everything: She was a slob, She had kids from hell. Everything about the show was wrong. However...things started to change to a more relaxed setting and it's starting to rely more on mystery and less than family life. I think NBC listened to the fans and I'm starting to really enjoy TMOL. And will...bite me!

Completely undeserved renewal. I love Debra Messing but this show is just plain stupid. What a waste of a talented actress.

Love Debra Messing and the humor she brings to catching the bad guys.
