The drama's first season gets a top up.
November 30, 2015
Supergirl received some good news today. CBS has extended the superhero drama's first season with an order of seven new episodes. That tops up its original order of 13 episodes to 20, which is just two shy of the typical "full" season of 22.
The Greg Berlanti series soared to a strong start for the network when it premiered in late October, drawing higher ratings than any of its other new fall entries. CBS is the latest network to add superhero fare to its lineup, joining Fox, which has Gotham, The CW, which has found success with Arrow and The Flash, and ABC, which airs Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D. and Agent Carter.

Well it is good to see a female lead in a hero role. And I agree the "budding' interracial relationship is something new for network tv -- also good to see. However, the insecure, whiney, uncertain nature of Kari/Supergirl is starting to be a big unbelievable. Actually it was unbelievable after about episode 3 and I've slowly lost interest since then. This super powered being has such an inferiority complex it is quite silly. They've bottled all the female leads into typical female characterizations - either meek and submissive, or overbearing, domineering and bitchy.. there's no in between. So while CBS has taken a couple steps forward, they've still relied on the same old stereotypes. So.. erm.. meh... they'll probably ruin it. I got bored with it anyway.

Sad that people don't want to give this show a chance. It's got an inventive cast and it's the first time the super heroine has ever had her own show. BRAVO!!! to CBS for taking a chance on a new and clever show, made for fanboys/girls of the superhero fandemonium. Good scripts and exceptional special effects. Casting of the budding romance of the interracial relatonship between a new look at Jimmy Olsen and Supergirl's alter ego (cool) also great to see Calista Flockhart back on t.v.Don't listen to anyone else, VIEW the show with an open-mind and less negativity (their is enough of that in the world already).

Couldn't even get through pilot. CBS watchers are loyal.. wish they would pick up some of the quality shows that other networks dropped.
