No Season 2 for the Neil Patrick Harris variety show.
December 16, 2015
NBC has pulled the plug on its live variety show Best Time Ever with Neil Patrick Harris. The freshman entry, which premiered in September as part of NBC's fall lineup, was the network's latest attempt at a prime time variety show. Its premiere episode garnered decent ratings, but viewership declined over the course of its 8-episode run.

I watched a little of the show because I like NPH so much. It was pretty awful. I don't understand why these network executives keep green-lighting variety shows when they all get canceled.

Thank Heavens this awful junk was canceled.

This show was taken from the UK version "And & Dec's Saturday Night Takeaway". The show is very popular here - I have seen an episode of Best Time Ever and it lacked what makes the UK version entertaining, but I can't put my finger on what that is...

Ooops: I meant, I wanted this to be a good show.

I think NPH is a very talented guy & generally very entertaining. I wanted this to be avoid show. It really, really wasn't. I agree w/ the comment that there really isn't an audience for this kind of show these days (I mean, really, it was so pointless), and it often felt very awkward. I'll be curious to see what's next for NPH. I think he could handle a talk show, maybe, if he can take the focus off himself and show that he's genuinely interested in the guests.

Wow, NP Harris can actually be part of a flop ? Or better, even he actually didn´t make this a success ? Maybe there is still hope for TV land.
