Fox announced today that Scream Queens has been renewed for a second season. The freshman comedy-horror series, from American Horror Story's Ryan Murphy, premiered last fall as part of the network's 2015 line-up with a short 13-episode run.

Ratings weren't particularly strong for the series, which struggled to draw high numbers in the key adults 18-49 demographic despite its high profile. It fared better in other metrics, however, performing particularly well in online, on-demand, and DVR viewing. Its strong social media presence was also notable.

Look for Season 2 of Scream Queens this fall, where it is expected the show will move to a hospital setting rather than stay within a college campus as it did in Season 1.
