TV's longest-running drama will continue.
February 1, 2016
NBC announced today that Law & Order: SVU has been renewed for an 18th season in 2016-2017. Premiering back in 1999, television's longest-running on-air drama continues to be a solid performer for the network after an incredible seventeen years in prime time.
Along with extending SVU's run, the network also extended its relationship with producer Dick Wolf with a new 5-year deal that keeps him at NBCUniversal through 2020. Wolf has two successful franchises on the network with Law & Order as well as the Chicago series of shows both spawning multiple spin-offs.

I do not care how it gets done but the final season of SVU has to have stabler and Benson. I am sure Mariska is going to leave pretty quick so I think a reunion needs to happen in order to end this long ass show properly. This deserves a good ending with the originals.
