The History drama returns in 2017.

History announced today that Vikings has been renewed for a fifth season. The veteran drama has maintained its rank as one of the top 10 cable dramas in its current fourth season, continuing to draw strong viewership in key demographics.
The cable network has ordered another 20 episodes of Vikings - matching its Season 4 number - for a premiere in 2017. It was also announced today that Jonathan Rhys Meyers will be joining the cast as a series regular in Season 5, though details on his role are being kept secret for the time being.

I am totally hooked on this show. Season 5 was supposed to premiere in 2017, but 2017 is almost over and I can't find any news about the release of the next several seasons, and I am really hoping that this production hasn't done a behind the scenes crash and burn.

I love this show and expected a return sooner than a year. Can't find a definite date as to when it returns. Hope it wasn't cancelled

I've loved this show since the beginning. The one thing I've noticed though is that every so often all of the kids grow up, but none of the adults get older. Maybe you should start adding wrinkles to the cast to coincide with the time jumps.

I loved the show .But it a show.why do u feel it's so important to go by real history.its a show I loved it.but you killed off Ragnar.i no longer want to watch it.you ruined the show by going way off him being.gone and then he comes back and then u.kill.him off.why do writers do this .

Love the show please keep makeing them I'm now obsessed just started watching the past seasons for the first time in all caught up it sucks now I have to wait for next season why can't vikings be like soap oprahs a new one everyday not week or seasons Ty for the honor of making history come alive

Terrific show. The only thing that kept me up to watch TV after Sons of Anarchy ended. Keep it coming!!!! Oh yeah, to all you haters, switch the channel.....
