The country music drama ends after Season 4.
May 12, 2016
It is being reported that ABC has cancelled Nashville after four seasons. The veteran drama has long been seen as on the bubble for a fifth season, with things looking promising after new showrunners were recently brought in in the event the show got picked up for 2016-2017.
While never a standout in the ratings, Nashville did hold a devoted fan base throughout its run. The country music-based series released numerous CDs with songs sung by the cast, and also aired TV music specials and held small tours.
Catch the Nashville series finale on May 25.

I am really bummed about this cancellation. They already had writers working on Season 5. Connie Britton, who is also a producer, stated last week that if TN passed the 'whatever' bathroom law she would not want to film in TN. So imho, it was Connie and her liberal stance that caused the cancellation. An associate of mine had the misfortune of seating next to her on an airplane ride to NY. He is not sweet Rayna.

So disappointed in this decision. I've watched the show since the beginning and love it.

so devastated that this show has been cancelled. Hope the rumours about the show shopping around for a new network are true. Don't care who gets it as long as it continues! Need my Juliette and Avery fix! Filming is over for now so it wasn't dropped because Hayden has gone into rehab again. if it is picked up by someone else, then she will have had a few months off to recover and begin filming again.

It's not worth getting invested in a TV show anymore. They just cancel it. I'm done with TV. Tell the genius who makes these decisions to stick it.

They should bring it back for another season but hoping to bring it back on a different network please bring Nashville back.

NOOOOOOOO!!!!! I LOVE this show! The music, the acting, the storylines - it's an awesome show & so much better than any reality show. So sad - I sure hope someone gives this show a second chance!-

WHAT!!!! Bad decision ABC! You can actually get to see how the music industry does work in this show which I thought was what Vinyl was supposed to show. Yes it has the drama too but you get to see how artists start out and the process from there. With Vinyl all you seem to see is a lot of drug taking and shouting and illegal stuff!! and I really and not enjoy it.

Way past time for this cancellation.
This used to be a great show that would feature equally great musical numbers. Now? You're lucky if you get half a song with people speaking over it and the drama is over the top soapy nonsense. The only true enjoyment you can get out of this show is if you hate watch it and make a drinking game out of it.
Characters veer from tolerable to obnoxious, and the only thing I end up rooting for is for some of them to go away. Now they have.

I am completely upset by this news. This is such a great show and the cast can really sing. Too bad that networks don't give shows a shot anymore. I hope they take into account the people that watch on Hulu and Netflix. Seems as if they don't. So sad:( There was tons of drama but it was a really great show.
