I liked HOL but it has been in a continuous rut the last two seasons. Doug and Clyde--the sleezebag twins--are no longer interesting. First three seasons were great but sometimes shows burn out quickly.

Love the show but it was time sadly. Maybe if fans cause enough heck we'll get a movie more akin to the first couple seasons style to wrap up the show right. Veronica Mars got a movie and so did Blue mountain state which isn't an anamoly. It's happened with wet hot American summer (a season of a series not a movie) Arrested Development almost a decade after it ended.
It's genius marketing. How do you drum up sales of full season DVD's and viewership on streaming services? make a movie years later when sales and viewers start to fade. The attention will make fans rewatch just so their ready when the movie or new season comes out.
A couple I missed I just remembered. X-Files, 24, fuller house

Was wondering if that would be the case when Kristen Bell's show was picked up by NBC. Sad to see it go.

I thought the show was great the first few seasons.. the last couple have been more limping along. It started out with lots of sex, comedy, and frankly vulgarity that made it funny... all that seems to have pretty much disappeared. There's no nudity anymore.. the comedy is VERY conditional and limited to ONLY that scene and ONLy that moment as opposed the general situational comedy it used to have.... and face it.. this was a quick start in part because there were (unspoken) hopes Bell would show some skin... well that's clearly not going to happen.
