HBO is bringing back its popular comedy series Curb Your Enthusiasm for a ninth season. It has been five years since the award-winning show aired its last episode, but the door was always left open for additional seasons whenever creator Larry David felt he had more to say.

"We're thrilled that Larry has decided to do a new season of Curb and can't wait to see what he has planned," said Casey Bloys, HBO president of programming, in a statement confirming the show's return.

Curb Your Enthusiasm premiered in 2000 and went on to become a huge hit for the cable network over the following decade. With 80 episodes under its belt, the comedy holds the distinction of being HBO's longest-running scripted series to-date.

There is no time frame set yet for the premiere of Season 9, nor is there any word on returning cast members, though one would expect the main players will all likely be returning.
