It's the end of the road for Jim Gaffigan's latest television project. The comedian announced this afternoon that The Jim Gaffigan Show will not be returning for a third season.

Less than 24 hours after last night's sophomore-season finale, Gaffigan posted a goodbye message on explaining that he and his wife, who together wrote and produced the show, have decided to step away in order focus on raising their five children.

TV Land also issued a statement on the cancellation, confirming that a mutual decision had been reached not to proceed with a third season.
