No Season 2 for the summer series.
October 17, 2016
It is being reported that CBS has cancelled BrainDead after just one season. The freshman series, from creators Robert and Michelle King, was the duo's next attempt at a hit after The Good Wife, which concluded earlier this year after an impressive seven seasons.
Unfortunately BrainDead didn't quite click with audiences over the course of its 13-episode summer run. A departure from the typical drama, the series was a political thriller of sorts, with a comedic supernatural twist involving a government shutdown due to an alien invasion on the US Capitol.

Every comment was favorable for this show. I loved it and would have liked it to continue. However from the first ep on I looked at it as a one time summer show that would not be renewed. That was the impression it gave me, so I think many people did not watch it assuming it was a ahort one summer fill in so why bother to get interesyed in it. MKL&ML Again the network mucky mucks messed up again another good show, great cast canceled.

I like the show a lot. But I thought it was a one-off mini-series so I wasn't looking for a season 2.

I absolutely loved this show!!! Clever, well written, freakin' hilarious! Gee I can see why it was cancelled, how could such an intelligent, well written show stay on TV? It would be nice if someone else picked it up (Netflix, Amazon, anyone?)

I am very upset. I adored this show. It was hysterical, witty, unique, exciting and a hoot to watch. I'm not even sure what happened with the female senator who had the alien queen's mate in her head. But, it certainly explains what is wrong with Congress, on both sides. I hope good ole Netflix or Amazon picks it up. You know, places that don't have to depend on sponsors and can actually have pretty much free artistic license. Who don't cancel a series after a few episodes or leave you on a cliff hanger. Thank God for Netflix picking up "The Last Kingdom", phew, that was close.

We loved this show! The really scary thing is how accurate, in many ways, it was about life on, and the culture of, Capitol Hill.
It was just a stretch beyond belief that the extreme wackos in Congress have alien ants in their heads!

I was intrigued but was waiting to see if it got renewed - that's the problem now - viewers don't want to watch in case it gets cancelled, but if they invest the time to watch it, it gets cancelled.
