No Season 2 for the summer series.
October 17, 2016
It is being reported that CBS has cancelled BrainDead after just one season. The freshman series, from creators Robert and Michelle King, was the duo's next attempt at a hit after The Good Wife, which concluded earlier this year after an impressive seven seasons.
Unfortunately BrainDead didn't quite click with audiences over the course of its 13-episode summer run. A departure from the typical drama, the series was a political thriller of sorts, with a comedic supernatural twist involving a government shutdown due to an alien invasion on the US Capitol.

It took my wife and I a couple of episodes to get what a truly entertaining show this was so we stuck with it and were well rewarded. I like to idea of someone like Netflix picking this show up.

I loved this show, and I'm very sad to see it go. My girl hated it, but the rest of my family loved it.

I loved this show! It was definitely one of the best shows in a long time! It would be faired better on Netflix.

Loved this highly creative, well-acted, campy, funny show. I actually thought it was a limited series all along and thought that final episode of the summer WAS the conclusion. Now that it's been mentioned I would have liked to have seen more.

I really enjoyed BrainDead. When I heard the premise, I thought it sounded incredibly stupid. But, I gave it a try b/c of The Good Wife folks and Tony Shaloub (Goomer, did you even give it a try instead of just prejudging it?). I thought it was great: fresh & funny. The foreshadowed Wall St. take on the aliens would have been fun to watch. Disillusioned Viewer, I completely agree -- Kevin Can Wait got renewed and not Braindead??

.. well I liked it... but it wasn't your typical network faire.... so yeah.. I can see why there was no faith in it from the powers in charge. Too bad really. I'd much rather watch this show than any of the hundreds of cop/legal/medical shows on the air.

Would of been better as a political satire show making fun of politicians. I watched the first episode the ants eating brains thing and the alien tie in did it for me and I moved on.

Well; it was a fun campy show. That really took on Washington politics in a fun way. It just didn't have a chance. I don't get why it takes networks so long to cancel shows. We still don't know if "olympus" is cancelled!

I can't believe a fun show like BrainDead gets canned yet a rancid piece of Yeti excrement like Kevin Can Wait get a full season
