No Season 2 for the mystery drama.
October 17, 2016
It is being reported that CBS has cancelled American Gothic after one season. The campy mystery drama premiered in June for a summer run that ultimately failed to attract much of an audience.
Luckily for fans that stuck with it to the end, the main plot line did wrap up with a big reveal in the final episode. And while the door was left slightly open for the story to continue, the finale did feel like a series closer.

I dropped out before the end of the first episode. Can't remember much about it other than what I was seeing and the premise of the series wasn't interesting to me.

I enjoyed it. I liked Murder in the First and Motive a lot better, but this was fine. All of them are gone now . . . bummer!

I never expected this to continue. I thought that went without saying. I hoped it would be the next Harper's Island and it totally delivered on that. It was a great show but keeping it going would ruin it anyway.

My wife and I enjoyed the entire season and we loved the twist at the end. I agree with JC, I think they planned it to be a one season mini-series. Thanks for an exciting summer show CBS!

It was a mini-series. Said that from the beginning.

I tried to like this, but by episode 3 I gave up... too cheesy overall. Surprised it made it a full season.

Not too surprising. The last season had "why bother" ingrained throughout. It looked like the writers and cast were trying to get it cancelled mid-season.
