Wow this show couldn't even stay on TVland. They show reruns of friends all night and this was even up to the channels standards? Wow just wow.

I am a professional comedy writer. since earning my masters degree from brown university nearly twenty years ago, i have written/co-written over 250 scripts that have aired on television, and 2 movie scripts. I wholeheartedly agree with the three "V's" (Vito-12/16..Vivica-01/02..Valerie-01/02). A good comedy needs not make sense. It may be quirky, amusing, entertaining, or perhaps "gut busting" funny. A comedy is successful if it makes you laugh, smile, or lighten your heart. This show was "extremely" well written.

Wow a lot of hate on a bad show. I tuned in to one episode saw it was lazy writing that made the quality of the show bad and never watched it again. Sure it was unbelievable but I just chalked it up to lazy creators. Oh well it won't be missed by me.

@American Viewer: Please, do not speak for me. I thought this show was entertaining, and I watched it. And I enjoyed it. Thoroughly. I'm running out of TV shows to watch. I'm not watching reality BS either.

Are you serious.... it's TV, not always supposed to be believable, just entertaining.
And I personally found it very entertaining.
It got me out of the every day grind for 20 minutes.
If you want things to be believable, stick with Reality TV.
I'd say a high percentage of shows are unbelievable, far fetched, unimaginable, unrealistic and the like.
Your point is really moot......

I imagine no one will see this as it has been a while since this thread started but:
Why does this thread have so many posts that feel negative? I love this site because it has great info and usually is a safe place.

No, This was too far fetched to be entertaining. The Church that hired him did no background check? No picture Id? Wow! They wanted us to believe that he was almost found out, but also want us to believe that they did do diligence in hiring a church official (They fingerprint people who just want to volunteer at most churches, they would check a photo id) Poor Writing! Lame Show! Also when is this set? 1990's? The writers need to learn how to work modern technology.
The show got canned because nobody watched it. Or in other words The majority of people agreed it was a show not worth watching.

While what everyone else is saying is true (it was far fetched) that doesn't mean it wasn't entertaining. It still gave me a laugh and that's what I need in my current situation. This show will be missed.

I think you have it backwards from what Viewer is saying. Viewer is right. It is not about over thinking the premise. They spent to much time putting the lead in danger of being found out that they made it harder for the characters to not notice and stay believable. By the end they had townsfolks so naive that they should't have been able to function. At some point the town collapses from its own stupidity or acknowledges it knew what was going on. The town ( and the show) collapsed.
