The period drama ends after two seasons.
March 9, 2017
PBS announced today that Mercy Street will not be returning for Season 3. The news comes four days after the period medical drama wrapped its second season. The series ends after a total of 12 episodes.
Mercy Street premiered in early 2016 as the public broadcaster's first original American drama in over 10 years. Inspired by real people and events, the series takes place during the Civil War and follows two nurses from opposing sides working in a Virginia hospital.

The educational tv bosses hated this fine show because the actors didn't have British accents.

Travesty. Mercy Street was excellent and because they lost funding they're gone. Just when funding for the NEA gets cut.

First season was excellent. Second season formula changed and they dropped the ball. Not surprisingly, it was cancelled.
