The Tim Allen comedy ends after six seasons.
May 10, 2017
Word is out this afternoon that ABC has cancelled Last Man Standing after six seasons on the air. The news comes as a bit of a surprise, as the veteran comedy has been an overall consistent performer for the network on Friday nights.
On the air since 2011, Last Man Standing was another successful TV venture for comedian Tim Allen. The show was Allen's first return to the small screen since 90s hit Home Improvement, and while it didn't quite have the longevity of his past series, its 130-episode run was impressive by today's standards.

This show was "commi"dy. as in communist. Glad it got canned. worse garbage ever. Of course fox brought it back. They wanted to ruin their network so Disney wouldn't take it.

This show is ruining tv and America. This is the downfall of modern comedy. It is just for conservative snowflakes. The sheep should go back to the farm and let the adults do comedy.

I'd like to know how they know what I'm watching because it seems that everything I like gets cancelled and everything I don't gets renewed. Everything is "reality" shows and more game shows. I really liked Last Man Standing and so did my dad!!

I just learned that Tim Allen wanted more money than was coming in to the network from his work. I hate ABC for not giving Comrade Allen his money. It does not matter if a Cooperation wants to make money. That is not the way us Americans want our communism. "Real Americans" like me don't think the companies should have a choice.

What I meant was the ratings were not high enough to keep this show on the air. The show cost too much and was not popular enough. Also I did not mean the people who correct others for complaining about wrong reasons for cancellation. That is the correct thing to do. If someone is complaining about a show being canned and they don't know the correct reason, then it is your job to correct them. I am mad about people who try to correct an opinion.

@InformedMover: Emily is right. Most conservatives are "Snowflakes." They melt if you say their show is low rated. They melt if you cancel it. They melt if you don't agree with them. Now you can agree with me and I am right or you can melt down and prove me right.
Or it is just a dumb term.
The show was cancelled because it was not getting advertiser dollars compared to the cost of the production. it was not getting advertiser dollars because a MAJORITY of viewers did not like it enough to watch it. Capatalism, and the 1st amendment, allows for the owner of the network who is paying for it to cancel what ever they want.

If the show was cancelled bc it wasn't "making money" then ABC should've tried it in other time slots on different days. Friday night's are typically not a stay at home & watch tv night. Seems like if they wanted it to succeed, they could have tried harder. Solid ratings on a friday night show should be proof enough. It was a great show...
