No Season 2 for the workplace comedy.
May 13, 2017
Word is out that The Great Indoors has been cancelled by CBS after just one season. The Joel McHale comedy premiered in the fall, airing a full 22-episode season. While its ratings were decent on Thursday nights, it did lose a good portion of its lead-in audience.
The writing was on the wall when the show was the only freshman comedy on the network not to receive a Season 2 renewal back in March.
The Great Indoors followed an outdoor adventure reporter who spent a good portion of his life exploring all the world has to offer, until a new desk job assignment in the digital department of his magazine gives him an unexpected culture shock.

This show was better than Kevin Can Wait.

This was one of those shows that was okay for the first season, not to bad, not really great, but had nowhere to go. It had used up most of its ideas already. It was going to get stale fast. What would they have done for season 2? I liked it but to cancel it was probably the best thing for it.

This is honestly great news. Joel McHale is a really funny and talented guy and deserves the opportunity to be on something better.

Really not surprised. I first heard about this show when they were testing it on audiences and even then I thought it was doomed.

I tried watching this show and it was horrible. I'm not surprised. In the beginning, it benefited from having TBBT as its lead in.
