A wrap-up special is on the way in 2018.
June 29, 2017
After an outcry following the sudden cancellation of Sense8 earlier this month, Netflix has had a change of heart of sorts, and will be releasing a 2-hour special to wrap up its story. Co-creator Lana Wachowski posted a letter on the show's official Twitter account earlier today, announcing the good news to fans.
With Season 2 of Sense8 ending off with a cliffhanger, the upcoming special - scheduled for sometime in 2018 - will give viewers a better sense of closure after the unexpected move to axe the show, including finding out what happens to Wolfgang.

Amazing show.
So happy we saved it.
Haters get over it.
We love this show.

the thing that bothers me the most about a canceled show is... it being replaced by, what i like to call, a sh!+ show. like reality tv... to me, it is some of the worst entertainment on the screen, if you can call it that. I think a 2-hour finally is great. But, I personally would do what the writers and creators of the series "Believe" did. they left it where the father finally got his daughter back and they rode off to another part of the country. But it was left where if someone wanted it could be picked up later down in the years to complete it or add to it. so i hope they take that into consideration when they or anyone else for that matter wants to do a cancellation finally. you know what needs to become a series? its the movie Parallels (2015) - the Directed by Christopher Leone. is a genius... stars With Mark Hapka, Jessica Rothe, Eric Jungmann, Constance Wu. A mysterious building is the gateway to infinite parallel Earths. we need more of those...

I hope the other networks will take notice of this and wrap a series up once it's cancelled.
Viewers devote a lot of time to a series and deserve a concluded story line.
I'm hoping this sets a precedent for all to follow

Better than nothing but this show was exceptionally well done with complex characters and dynamic content. 2 hours to wrap up the storyline. . . . not gonna happen

Ah... the bitter little bigots are out in full force again. Get over it, don't watch the finale if you don't want to, and move along to the shows you like. Simple....

Just like a slasher flick.. just when you are relieved it's dead.... it crawls out of the lake to ruin things some more. I'm glad fans will get closure, but for THIS show???? I think it may be more Netflix not wanting to APPEAR anti-LGBTQXYZLMNOP than anything more. Show was NOT good, but it was the only show centering around so much soft-core porn currently airing.

Show runner would be high enough on the food chain to know whether or not a next season was signed for and locked in. No show runner without a signed next season in hand has any business ending on a cliffhanger unless he plans to fund a dvd release himself in the event of cancellation. I do admire Netflix' commitment to right this wrong caused through no fault of their own, but hope ot does not cause a trend. Again, the Plopster is happy for the fans getting closure here.

@Plop: Semi correct; the show runner may or MAY NOT know about a renewal. Actually, show runners have been TOLD they had another season in place, but ULTIMATELY THE NETWORK makes the final choice.
That being said, I too am glad for this wrap up because the fans deserve it.This is similar to what happened with 'Noah's Arc'

I am happy the fans of the show are getting their ending. That said, I do not agree with Dagor that this should happen with every cancelled show. When a show is cancelled on a cliffhanger, that is not, I repeat NOT on the network. It is on the show runner for leaving a cliffhanger knowing he wasn't yet renewed. If the rule is every cancelled show gets this oppurtunity then every show on the bubble will do this just to get that extra few episodes of work even though they are cancelled. Remember very important, its the show runner who is at fault for the cliffhanger. He/she was aware their was no renewal in place yet and still decided to leave things un-wrapped.
