The music-based game show will return for a second season.
July 12, 2017
Fox announced today that Beat Shazam will be returning for Season 2. The freshman music-based game show premiered in late May and has so far been performing well against its Thursday night summer competition.
Hosted by Jamie Foxx, Beat Shazam sees teams of two face off, racing against the clock and one another, in an attempt to identify some of the most well-known hit songs of all time across a wide variety of genres. The team with the highest score at the end moves on to face Shazam, the world's most popular song identification app, for a chance at taking home a cash prize.
Look Season 2 next summer, with Foxx returning as host.

I've loved game shows since I was a kid. But this show is AWFUL. It lacks intellect and excitement. They try so hard to make it excitement and it's a total fail. How this show got renewed is beyond me.

"Poor people who only have basic cable or antennas tend to like dumb TV."
This comment ranks fairly high on the list of 'stupidest things I've ever read'. I can only imagine what you must think of people that went to public school or have lived in a mobile home...

Fox needs more dumb shows like this. They can't compete with quality shows so this is their niche. Poor people who only have basic cable or antennas tend to like dumb TV.

@raylan125 I guess you haven't seen the previews for the game show based on the "Candy Crush" game. There's even a movie coming out based entirely on emojis! 🙈🤦ðŸ»â€â™‚ï¸ðŸ¤·ðŸ¼â€â™‚ï¸ðŸ¤¢ðŸ’©.
I always had a feeling I was going to be alive when the world ended, I just thought it would happen more traditionally with fireballs and trumpets and whatnot. But, it is happening. The world is ending. It has to be, right? Things can't be as insane as they are right now on so many different fronts unless it's the end of the world. Right?

Great to see this show returning. This new version of "Name That Tune"is a good escape from what is going on in our world today. I would like to note that the criteria on which summer shows are judged are different that those that run September through May of the following year.

I watched 10 minutes.... that was enough to last me the rest of my life. Congrats to those that want this.. but your taste preferences remain a mystery to me. :)

This show is so stupid. Thank god I never watch. How can they give this show more seasons while cancelling great shows.
