The comedy has been picked up for a 10th season.
August 3, 2017
At today's TCA session for the upcoming revival of Will & Grace, NBC announced that the Emmy Award-winning comedy has been renewed for an additional season - its 10th. The early pickup comes two months ahead of the Season 9 premiere and is more good news for the revered comedy, which was brought back to life back in January when the network officially ordered a new season with its original cast.
Will & Grace premiered in 1998 and during its eight years on the air became a staple in the peacock network's Must See TV comedy lineup on Thursday nights. Rumors of a revival originally began swirling last fall, when the cast reunited for an online special urging Americans to vote in the upcoming presidential election. And while that was done without any involvement from NBC, it was enough for the network to start thinking about a revival.
Today's Season 10 renewal is for 13 episodes in the 2018-2019 season. The episode count for this fall's ninth season was also extended today and now comes in at 16 episodes.

I hate how everyone brings politics into tv entertainment. I personally watch tv to get away from all that. I don't think the show should have anything to do with that. Really glad to see show has that much confidence though, looking forward to premier, hope the writers leave politics out of it!

Speaking of Politics....
Some people will like this and defend the show to the hilt, despite its short comings. Others will see that it is a bad idea and should not have been done. The supporters will fight for ever and we will have to put up with it for a while but it will end before it is planned to.

Since politics have been mentioned.....I'm a liberal and even I can't stand Debra Messing anymore. Even with that said, I totally loved this show when it originally aired! It was one of my favorites, but I'm not sure a revival is something we needed. I will probably check it out, but I'm pretty skeptical that they can recapture the magic of the original. I feel like too much time has passed and it sounds like they're changing the entire way it ended. But I guess everyone is jumping onboard the nostalgia train. Seems to be the way to go.

@sherry. Not sure where you read that jack won't be in the revival but it's not true. Just check out the link on this page about the revival, clearly says Sean Hayes will be in it.

I heard Jack is not a part of the reboot. Without "JUST JACK" the show wouldn't be the same so I will pass!

As much as I liked the original, not sure if a revival is necessary. It seems to be the thing to do now and it's already getting kind of tiring. What bothers me the most though is the premature renewal. It hasn't even aired yet and they've already given it an additional season? Meanwhile, shows I've really liked have gotten cancelled quickly with no explanation.

NBC should listen to Mitch Mconnell. "It is time to move on" People watch Will and Grace, but now they won't.
Trump will be out of office and it will be his own fault. The only thing congress (and Real Americans) can agree on is against him. They are making laws to prevent him from interfering. After 7 years they are having to tell each other to move on. (Waits for "Sweet" the snowflake, or other conservative snowflakes to melt down at Truth)

Hey RedZulu and Aethn, Trump needs to be bashed.....at least until he is impeached so we can finally have a true conservative Christian in Pence.
That said, my wife and I LOVED W&G and hope the reboot still has the magic. We'll be watching for sure.
