The soap reboot scores nine additional episodes.
November 8, 2017
The CW announced today that Dynasty has been picked up for a full season. The prime time soap opera premiered last month but has struggled to make an immediate impact in the ratings through four episodes. The show garnered a 0.3 in the adults 18-49 demographic for its first two weeks but has fallen to a lowly 0.2 in recent airings.
Rebooted from the 1980s soap opera of the same name, Dynasty follows the rivalry between two upper-crust American families. Fallon Carrington is a cunning young woman on the rise who discovers that her billionaire father is engaged to a younger rival employee at their global energy empire. Not wanting an outsider intruding on her family's dynasty, Fallon becomes allies with her father's nemesis as part of a move to strike out on her own.
Nine additional episodes have been added to Dynasty's first season, bringing its Season 1 total to 22 episodes.

Two things.... One, the shows not horrible. Its paired with the wrong lead in, they are going after the wrong viewers and could definitely use a new advertising campaign. It could be the perfect guilty pleasure show. Sort of like Empire. It has numerous ethnicities on the show and takes place in Atlanta. They could have high profile entertainers do guest spots. Stop pitting it against Empire. Figure out who they want their audience to be...older people aren't interested, its too mature for the Riverdale lead in and the Nickelodeon viewers it appears to be courting. Young adults and urban viewers would be its best bet.
Two, I believe they've already made a deal with Netflix to have the episode available the very next easy on Netflix so they've already made their money on the show, It was pretty much guaranteed to be picked up for the whole season.
This show sucks

Proof CW is run by complete morons. One of the lowest rated shows they have and it's given a full season order while yearly they pull shoes with better rating

I watched the original way back (I am that old *g*) I was mildly interested when I read about the remake. But as soon as I read how they twisted the characters I lost all little interest there was. Like Dallas this is doomed to fail. Those shows are not transferable to another timeframe.

The show is actually terrible. It's like watching a train wreck. There is no chemistry between the actors portraying couples and the situations they get themselves into are truly absurd i.e. a lover gets killed, an impromptu wedding is held , the brother gets charged for murder, and the main characters go on a mini vacation. All within the span of a few days ?????? At least the old dynasty had great 80's shoulder pads.

Are you kidding me? So doggone tired of all of these re-makes. Let's make this even more stupid - how about bringing back Melrose Place for a third time, and putting in Grant Show as a really really old Jake?
