No Season 3 for the comedic sci-fi series.
December 18, 2017
It is being reported that BBC America has cancelled Dirk Gently's Holistic Detective Agency after two seasons. The move to end the show comes just days after the comedic sci-fi series aired its second-season finale.
The cable network released the following statement this afternoon, confirming the news: "We are beyond proud of this brilliant original series and so appreciative of the outstanding team behind it including Max Landis, Samuel Barnett, Elijah Wood, and many many others. It was a privilege to work with this talented and passionate group of writers, producers and actors on these two seasons of Dirk. Thanks also to the passionate fans who embraced this fantastically novel world."
Dirk Gently's Holistic Detective Agency stars Samuel Barnett as the eccentric titular character, who uses his uncanny psychic abilities as a key element in his investigations. Along with his reluctant assistant Todd, played by Elijah Wood, the oddball duo embark on thrilling and bizarre adventures involving cases of the supernatural kind.

Vivica, people like you are the reason I can't stand this stupid world. People like you are what is "unnecessary". Black people get hated on tv. Calling ugly. How you are is Ugly. I knew people would talk about her. Sad world.

I lost interest in the first season after the annoying, fugly AND unnecessary black girl became a regular. Just Dirk and Elijah please.

Loved this show. It was one of those shows that DID NOT follow standard network formulas... Not a huge fan of bug-eyed Frodo, but the show was fantastic. Sorry to see it end.

Interesting... I set my TiVO up to record episodes years ago and not one ever recorded. I didnt even know season 1 aired on BBCA, let alone 'finished up' Season 2...

Totally bummed! I loved this show and was excited for Season 3, which I just assumed was going to happen. One of the best shows on TV. Sad it won't be returning.

I binge watched season one off the DVR. It's a good thing I did it that way or I never would have remembered details from the first episode that were important in the finale. This year I kept looking for it on the schedule and never saw it. Must not be watching much BBCA these days. Sad to see that I missed the entire season and now this...

I have only seen the first season, and was planning on watching the second one. But, now this. Time to reconsider. Shame though, it was an interesting show.

This was a very good show. It was original and genius, but I guess people would rather watch CSI and these singing and dancing shows that are complete garbage.

I so wanted to like this show, but even after multiple tries, I just couldn't get in to it. I'm sorry it got cancelled for those of you who liked it.
