IFC announced today that Brockmire has been renewed for Seasons 3 and 4. Coinciding with opening day of Major League Baseball - fitting for the comedy's theme - the multi-season pickup comes a month before the show kicks off its sophomore run.
Hank Azaria stars in the series as the titular character, a famed major league baseball announcer who, after suffering an embarrassing public breakdown on the air a decade ago, moves to a small town with a focus on reclaiming his career, reputation, and love life.
The concept of the series originated as a viral short video on the comedy website 'Funny Or Die', and its adaptation for television has been a successful one. Audiences and critics have both praised the show, which in its first season drew better ratings than any other new series in the network's history.
Look for Season 3 of Brockmire to premiere in 2019, followed by Season 4 in 2020.

Wow. I mean season 1 was okay. Not bad, but not really earth-shattering either. I was looking forward to a second season.. but to throw 2 more season in?? Wonder if it's merely cheaper to film them all at the same time... I mean they can always pull the plug later. And with Portlandia ending. IFC doesn't have a whole lot more than the mediocre Canadian shows they've purchased.
