It is being reported that Mozart in the Jungle has been cancelled by Amazon after four seasons. The comedic drama released its final season this February and ends its run after a total of 40 episodes.

From Amazon Studios, the series was one of the first originals on the streaming service and helped establish it as a producer of quality content. The show garnered widespread critical acclaim and took home numerous awards over the course of its run, including a Golden Globe win in 2016 for Best Television Series - Comedy. That recognition helped pave the way for Amazon's growing slate of original series.

Based on the 2005 memoir of the same name by oboist Blair Tindall, Mozart in the Jungle takes a look behind the scenes at a New York symphony, where what goes on behind the curtain can be just as captivating as what happens on stage.
