It is being reported that HBO has cancelled Here and Now after just one season. The freshman series was the cable network's most-recent original drama, premiering earlier this year with a 10-episode run that concluded less than two weeks ago.

From creator Alan Ball, the series followed a progressive middle-aged couple raising four children, three of which were adopted from Colombia, Liberia, and Vietnam. When one of their kids starts seeing things that others can't, he is treated by a psychiatrist whose contemporary Muslim family highlights the disparate forces that are polarizing the culture in present-day America.

While Ball is behind previous television hits like Six Feet Under and True Blood, Here and Now was considered a miss on multiple fronts. Critics gave the show a lukewarm reception and audiences failed to tune in, resulting in low ratings over the course of its run.
