The new comedy will return for Season 2.
May 8, 2018
NBC announced today that A.P. Bio has been renewed for a second season. The Seth Meyers-produced comedy premiered as a mid-season entry in February and just wrapped its 13-episode freshman run last week.
The half-hour series follows a philosophy scholar who, after losing out on his dream job, takes a position as a high school Advanced Placement Biology teacher. But he has plans far beyond teaching biology, including using his classroom full of honor roll students to help him mentally break his job-stealing nemesis and win back the position that he feels is rightfully his.
Critical response to the first season of A.P. Bio was mixed, with reviewers recognizing the show's ability to generate laughs but expecting more from the overall premise. Viewers seemed to have similar sentiments, as ratings were ultimately underwhelming.
Look for Season 2 of A.P. Bio to return for the 2018-2019 season, likely as a mid-season entry once again.

As a teacher from Canada, where a minimum bachelor degree in the subject matter AND a degree in education is required, I find this show to be degrading to the profession. A Ph.D. in philosophy does not make you qualified to teach in the public schools (private too in some jurisdictions). And it certainly does not qualify you to teach AP biology, IB biology - or even general biology.
I remember an episode of Boston Public many years ago where an accountant was required to teach math in a public high school as part of his sentencing for embezzlement. Great - teaching as punishment, and a non-qualified "teacher" to boot.
I know these are just TV shows, but I hope this does not reflect reality in the US education system.

Those that don't like this show, like that old, vaudeville comedy variety show stuff. This is very much in the vein of Glen's type of comedy style. I'd love to know those that think this show stinks, please tell me what shows you think are funny? Young Sheldon? Two Broke Girls? Man With A Plan? That's more your speed right?

It's a current filmmaker's trend @Truth .. http://theabyssgazes.blogspot.com/2010/03/teal-and-orange-hollywood-please-stop.html Happens probably more than you realize.. until you read that article :) In 10 years, you'll be able to spot ANYTHING made in the 2010's because of it's kitschy, trendy, color balance.

Yes El Conquistador
I was wondering why the picture always annoyed me. That is it. It seems as if they were going for a style but stopped a little short.

I REALLY hope they tone down the orange/teal color correction in the future. The show's merely okay.. but that color theming is horrid... which kind of makes it a bad choice for me overall. If they correct, or rather STOP, altering the color, then maybe it'll be okay.

I liked the show. It might be a little complicated for the more "laugh track" crowd. It did have some issues with the main character but the students well made up for it. Glad to see it coming back.
