The comedy will return for Season 7.
May 11, 2018
The rumors were true - Fox announced today that Last Man Standing is being revived and will return for a seventh season. The good news comes almost exactly one year after the Tim Allen comedy was cancelled by its original network, ABC.
Earlier this month, multiple outlets were reporting that Fox was interested in bringing back the popular sitcom. The network obviously heard the significant outcry from fans after ABC unexpectedly axed the series, which was still a solid performer at the time. The recent success story of Roseanne's revival quite possibly sped up efforts to bring the show back to appease a large fan base that obviously was not ready for it to end.
Last Man Standing will return for the 2018-2019 television season and is set to include most, if not all, of the original cast.

I am so glade it is coming back I really missed this show but I hope they don't bring back the husband of the oldest daughter I was not a fan. To many stupid values by that character. But if they do bring him back I will still watch because the show was funny.

I watch show like this because I have trouble with modern shows. I can't tell what is a joke and what is not. The older shows like this tell me when to laugh and I like that. Also I liked the days when bad writing and overused plot lines didn't matter. I am glad Fox isn't taking any chances and is putting on simple shows for us simple people.

Well with the unamerican Rosanne coming back of course Fox wants some of the Russian supporting action. I mean when you want to tank a network you can all he good stuff (Mick, b99). I guess I will be patriotic and not watch this on Fox like I didn't watch it on ABC.

Hopefully, people will finally stop the lying that ABC cancelled this show because of Allen's politics. The truth was that ABC didn't own any rights to the show and made very little money by airing it. Then the show's production company had a massive increase in ABC's cost for the show. Coupled with the network's decision to stop airing comedies on Friday, they declined the new contract. Nobody budged and they had a standoff.
I suppose the production company came to its senses on price and Fox figured it was affordable. Maybe the right-wing's endorsement of the Roseanne reboot fueled that decision.
