ABC is sticking with Single Parents. The network today topped up the comedy's freshman order with nine additional episodes, bringing its first-season total to 22. The pickup makes it the fall's first new comedy to earn a full season order.

The good news comes after its first three airings ranked it as 2018-2019's top new comedy in the adults 18-49 demographic. And while last night's premieres of The Conners and The Kids Are Alright drew stronger ratings, they benefited from more enviable time slots.

Single Parents follows single dad Will Cooper, whose 7-year-old daughter is starting her first day of elementary school. There, he gets to know a group of other single parents, who notice that Will is just a bit too into parenting and less focused on his own life. Wanting to help Will remember the man he once was, his new dysfunctional group of friends send him out in the dating world as a way to make him realize that being a good parent doesn't mean losing your own identity.
