The ABC comedy scores more episodes.
October 17, 2018
ABC is sticking with Single Parents. The network today topped up the comedy's freshman order with nine additional episodes, bringing its first-season total to 22. The pickup makes it the fall's first new comedy to earn a full season order.
The good news comes after its first three airings ranked it as 2018-2019's top new comedy in the adults 18-49 demographic. And while last night's premieres of The Conners and The Kids Are Alright drew stronger ratings, they benefited from more enviable time slots.
Single Parents follows single dad Will Cooper, whose 7-year-old daughter is starting her first day of elementary school. There, he gets to know a group of other single parents, who notice that Will is just a bit too into parenting and less focused on his own life. Wanting to help Will remember the man he once was, his new dysfunctional group of friends send him out in the dating world as a way to make him realize that being a good parent doesn't mean losing your own identity.

It's OK but nothing special so far. The ensemble cast has yet to jell. For now I'm watching but I could jettison it at any time.

"The Conners" only had strong ratings because everyone wanted to see how they killed off Roseanne. The reboot wasn't the best to begin with and now with the loss of Roseanne it might just tank. Sorry, but Darlene's character is too boring and Becky is too annoying at times. Too many other good shows in this time slot to watch!

I really wanted to like this show, especially because of Brad Garrett; but I just couldn't get into it and barely made it halfway through episode one before deleting it and removing future episodes.
Something is just off with this show and I think it is Taran Killam I do not like in large doses. He was ok on SNL in skits, but his overall sense of comedy and timing is annoying.

I love this show so much. I'm already hooked and I'm glad it got a full season
Meh!

Meh. For a few years this show will be the definition of Meh. It isn't as off putting as most multi-cams shows, but isn't as good as some single camera shows. The jokes seem there but hiding behind the stale generic outlines of characters. The kids are made to "interesting" to be real. The adults are way to one dimensional to be worth watching. It feels as if they are almost getting it but never quite jell. I sense that in about 3 episodes it is going to plummet in the ratings.

The show is awful. I tried until episode 3 and deleted mid episode. It has a good cast, but it's a crap show. Im stunned this got a full season.
Happy for those who do like it. I really thought this would be cancelled quick.

I can’t believe this show is making it. It’s horrible.

We suffered through the whole first episode, but I immediately cancelled my Season's Pass. I had great hope based on some of the cast members, but it was a GREAT disappointment. Did it get better as the season progressed?

Just couldn't get into this one. I couldn't even watch the entire first episode.
