The spin-off sees a small top-up to its freshman run.
October 26, 2018
ABC ordered an extra episode for Season 1 of The Conners today, extending its debut outing to 11 total. The news comes just two episodes into the show's run.
A spin-off of Roseanne, which had its time on the air cut short due to controversy surrounding its star, The Conners continues the story of the titular family, acting in a way as a second season to its source material. Before its cancellation, Roseanne had actually been renewed for a 13-episode sophomore run.
The Conners follows the family members' lives after a sudden turn of events alters their landscape forever. Forced to continue living their daily working-class lives in Lanford in a completely new way, Dan, Jackie, Darlene, Becky, and D.J. tackle everything from parenthood and financial pressure to dating and unexpected pregnancy.

I assume theyve seen the ratings and graciously gave them one extra episode to do a proper farewell before its ultimate cancellation.

ABC must be desperate for shows because Roseanne wasn't that funny and The Connors is a snooze fest. Sara is my least favorite character (boring). They keep bringing Johnny Galecki back to bring any kind of laughter to the show. Yawn...too many other good shows in this time slot to watch!

Leave your political comments out of this discussion. The left side politics are not so innocent either. Only difference is, they get to hammer their MORONIC ideas and it is accepted as norm.
Not that I Am condoning what Ms Barr did but obviously, the show without her sophomoric humor is nothing but drama. Laurie Metcalf should stick to playing Sheldon's mom role on The Big Bang Theory. Melisa Gilbert is, well, as usual, awful. John Goodman all by himself, is not enough to pull this thing off on his own. Writing is on the wall. Pull the plug already.

Dan and Jackie were always the best characters on the show, but it's become apparent that Roseanne was the glue that held the magic together. They had lightning in a bottle and they messed with it. Time to cancel it and send it to the land of forgotten, failed spinoffs that people try to forget (Joey, anyone?). Sara Gilbert in a more leading role is never a good idea. She was barely tolerable as a background character. And Lecy is so out of practice playing Becky, her acting was awful last year and did not improve over the break. ABC execs shouldn't have jumped the gun. Fans would've determined whether or not the show should go on with Roseanne... and now fans will determine whether or not it should go on without her.

I personally like the Connors and will continue watching. So glad to see the cast pulling together.

I didn’t watch the reboot Roseanne because she isn’t funny at all, plus her politics stinks. One thing that amazes me from #MAGAts, they loved the show, but I seem to remember a little incident where she butchered the National Anthem at a baseball game along time ago and grabbed her crotch, but a football player kneeling, they can’t have that. Hypocrites and #MAGAMaggots go hand in hand. But I love the acting on The Conners.

The show wasn't hilarious before Roseanne left, but there were moments of laughter. So far... I haven't even seen anything humorous in The Conners". Either they lost some good writers or they are just phoning in the scripts. I will watch one more episode to see if it gets its footing. If not, it is off my list of shows to watch!

Roseanne was always my least favorite part of the show. John Goodman and Laurie Metcalf are both fantastic actors and can carry the show without Roseanne's irritating voice. I'm happy to see it got topped off. I'll be watching.
