The panel game show returns in the new year.

ABC is keeping the revived Match Game in its lineup once again. The network announced its mid-season schedule today, and the panel game show is slotted in for a January return.
Match Game originally premiered way back in 1962, going on to air numerous revivals over the decades that followed. This latest update to Match Game, hosted by Alec Baldwin, premiered in 2016 as part of ABC's 'Sunday Fun & Games' block, airing in the 10:00pm hour following Celebrity Family Feud and The $100,000 Pyramid.
The show has since found a home in the winter months, premiering each of its last three seasons in January. Fans can look forward to Season 4 on Wednesday, January 9 at 10:00pm.

The adult nature of this show can be hilarious! And thats why I like The Match game. And, of course, Alec's coarse nature helps keep the show on track. To Love_Texas...if you've seen anything on that video website you know ppl will watch literally anything.

Analyzing Alec Baldwins personal life has no bearing on this tv show. Which is just as good as the older versions.

I never made it through one episode. It was horrible. I watched the original as a kid.

The Match Game back in the 60's or 70's was stupid with Gene Rayburn. Alex Baldwin is just not likeable. He started out on a soap opera, had some fame as a movie actor, then 30 Rock made him lots of money.
He was nasty to his wife now ex-wife, left creepy messages on his daughter's cell phone, his temper is out of control - he is always hitting someone in NY. He was kicked off a flight about 4 years ago because he refused to turn off some stupid game he was playing on his phone. Wish they would cancel everything he is in.

I didn't mind the stupidity of the first season or two, but I seriously can't figure out how it is possible for it to have gotten even dumber???
I wish the ratings graph was shown for Match Game. I know these shows are cheap to make so they don't need to draw as many viewers (is that correct?) But I still can't imagine that many people watch.
There are other mindless "game type shows" that are worth the time when a viewer doesn't want to think.
I'll stick to "Whose Line is it Anyway" which I freely admit I LOVE and maybe "Hollywood Game Night."
