The veteran procedural will say good-bye next year.
January 10, 2019
It was announced today that Criminal Minds has been renewed for what will be its 15th and final season. CBS has ordered 10 episodes for the long-running procedural's swan song, which will be its shortest season to-date.
A continually-solid performer in the network's prime time lineup, the series has had an impressive run, reaching the 300-episode milestone earlier this season. When all is said and done, its 324 total episodes will be matched by very few scripted series.

Having followed this series through it's entire run, I have to say that, although I have always enjoyed it (and still do), maybe it is time. 15 years is an unbelievable run for any show. And although I still sometimes wonder if the script-writers shouldn't be put on a "watch-list" with the twisted, creepy things that they still manage to come up with, it is starting to get a bit tired. Just as long as they don't replace it with yet another sit-com, or yet another reality show. If they're going to end what has been a great crime procedural, hopefully they will try to find something akin to that to replace it with.

I love the show, but felt it is time. Spencer the last few seasons has been mainly absent. The story lines were getting a little dull or repetitive feeling. End on a good note.

15 years is a good run for a procedural - the stories were becoming a bit predictable and less believable (I dont think they missed rescuing the last victim this past season.) And like most of these shows, how many times over the years can you shoot, stab, kidnap, and throw a character off a building before they start to limp... And how many living family members do any of them have left? I loved the show, it was a weekly favorite, but so long as they end it properly im okay with it going now.

This show was a crime, horror & comedy show all put into one. A learning experience as well as I learned many profiling theories. The actors were like family. So do sad to see it end. Thank goodness for the reruns!

Good show, will be missed. I feel it changed with the firing of the Actor who played Hodges, then when Shemar left, and all the new characters there isn't the same feeling. Thanks for the ride. CBS please don't replace it with yet another reality show. I have enough of my own reality.

I am going to miss this show. This and CSI were my two favorites and I am sad to see them both off the air.

That is a very long run. Cbs was the king of procedurals.

I kinda wanted to come in and say something like "good now maybe we will get a better show" but then I remembered how much content we have over all the platforms and that I don't have to watch this if I don't like it. I also remembered how I felt when CSI went off the air. CBS hasn't replaced it with anything worthwhile so why will this be any different. It will probably be a remake of CHiPs.
